Joanna Uiterwijk
Joanna is a coach and facilitator who supports leaders and teams in increasing awareness and connection as a foundation for growth. Her approach is firmly rooted in brain-based learning and neuroscience, showing how awareness reshapes the brain, strengthens patterns, and creates lasting impact. With a background in leadership, communication, and Training & Development management, she has over fifteen years of experience in designing and delivering programs across Europe. She has worked in a wide range of sectors, including ICT, energy, engineering, publishing, higher education, and government.
After studying social psychology, Joanna has continued to expand her expertise, with a strong recent focus on applying brain-based learning and awareness in practice. She regards diversity as a given, even within seemingly homogeneous teams and helps organizations embrace differences as enrichment. With curiosity and connection as her foundation, she guides teams from exclusion to inclusion.
Through various networks, Joanna’s path crossed with Armand’s, where they discovered a shared belief in the transformative power of development interventions for both personal and professional growth. Since 2018, this mutual trust has led to several joint projects, eventually resulting in a long-term collaboration within Allied Forces.
Joanna was born in Rotterdam and raised with bi-cultural values, which shaped her resilience and international outlook. She is married, mother of three adult children, and grandmother of two free spirits. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, theater, skiing, and playing tennis with her family. She also finds energy in Pilates, reading, photography, and lifelong learning.
