Robert Hagendoorn
Robert has a background in marketing and communication sciences and a strong creative foundation. From an early age he was fascinated by stories and by the question why some stories move people and others do not. During his studies and career he moved between communication, digital media and the stage, where he trained as a theatre maker and actor. This combination still forms the core of how he looks at people, organizations and identity.
In his work Robert operates at the intersection of strategy, creativity and behavior. He explores positioning, brand narratives and the alignment between what is said and what is done. From his experience in marketing and communication he observes behavior, context and intention with a sharp eye. For him, a strong story only emerges when content, form and meaning are aligned. He does not see storytelling as a trick, but as a way to provide direction and create meaning, as long as the story is consistent with the core.
Alongside his analytical perspective, Robert brings a great deal of creativity and expression. Theatre, music and performance have taught him the importance of timing, attention and presence. He carries that experience into everything he does, whether writing, thinking or creating. He combines reflection with playfulness and continually searches for the balance between head and heart.
Outside his work Robert gains energy from creativity and movement. Being on stage, singing and telling stories give him joy and relaxation. He also enjoys sports and regularly practices boxing to stay physically sharp. Together with his family in Haarlem he consciously seeks a balance between intensity and calm. What connects everything is his belief that people and organizations truly flourish when they dare to live and work from their own core.
